as far as "soft" creams, i'd say the 3 that come to mind for me are (In order of preference):

AOS Lemon
AOS Lavender

I wouldn't say I'm a fan of MdC. I'm a fan of its lather though. Of the creams I've tried (the four I remember are T&H, Pro red, Palm Green, and Penhal, though there were a couple others awhile back), the only one that shows potential to approach that level of lather quality is the Pro Red. Face lathering with my Rooney Finest (my version of giving a soap/cream a massive handicap), the T&H showed quality, but I'd put it between AOS/Valobra and Tabac for maximum lather quality in my environment. Not bad, but below MdC and it's ilk. Pro Red showed a lot of promise in it's first shave... but I'm gonna give it a couple more shaves before I fully judge it. I'd say it was right around Tabac level on its first go though.

Fans of MdC , What soft creams do you like ?

T&H - performance fine across board, then personal pref for scent (for me Limes and Sandalwood);
TOBS - Jermyn Street
Penhaligon's - only tried sample (thanks Garry) of Blenheim Bouquet and loved it, so don't know how "soft" it presents in jar, but i do know that i want it; all of the "Pens" come in tube also, so must be pretty soft.

MdC is currently my favorite lathering medium , but I'm searching for a cream that shares the qualities of MdC .
The best cream I've used was Domenico Caraceni 1913 but it's been discontinued .
I understand that Xpec is made by the same company .
I also like NancyBoy Replenishing and T&H Ultimate Comfort .
Looking forward to trying Simpsons Luxury .
Some of the creams mentioned like Proraso Green/Red , Lanolizado (Top Secret) , and Penhaligon's share ingredients with Barbasol .
I'm sure they're very good creams but I rather not go there at the moment .

TOBS sandalwood (most TOBS as they all lather and perform almost the same but Sandalwood is My fave scent. They produce a thick cushiony protective lather with decent lubrication)
Musgo Real Original ( Refreshing Menthol and the combination of lanolin glycerin and coconut oil leaves my face feeling great)
GFT Coconut (super slick for effortless shaving and the formulation leaves skin with a soft and supple feel)

If you like the scent of Martin de Candre, you owe it to yourself to try Rapha. It's different, but related.
