Fall/Winter: Opus, Endymion, or Floris Santal

One last question. My deepest thanks for listening, everyone.

I sampled Burberry London, and think it's a really, really good fall/winter scent. It's spicy, but deep. Only thing is, I think it's just a little over-sweet. Instead of purchasing the London, I'm looking at the above three options.

Are the three scents good possibilities to end my search? I really like the leather, tobacco, and spice drydown of burberry london, just wondering if I might find something just slightly more interesting. Do these scents apply?

Again, thanks all.

Of the three you mentioned, I prefer Endymion. However, if you want something that's not as sweet, it might not be a good choice for you.

Have you tried Pen's Elixir? I personally think it's a great fall and winter scent. To me, it has a lot of the wood notes of Opus, but with an added spice and incense element. (Yes, I know I'm getting you off track . . .)

I like Opus...Pepper, cedar, a great winter scent. I also found English Fern to be rather fall/winter to me.

Did not like Elixir at all. It smells like roses and leather to me. A terrible combo(IMO) :tongue_sm. Definitely not something you wear to the office every day but would work if your going out on the town.

+2...I have only worn Endymion once (sample spray). I thought it was amazing, but it was just too sweet for me. Know what you're getting into before buying a bottle! :)

You're referencing the Elixir here, right? I ask because this will be a daily-user for the fall and winter. I think that I'll restrict my searching to the Opus and Endymion, as I like the woodiness that each seems to have.

Is a take on cinnamon (sp?) and is very nice.

I have a sample of Endymion and hope to one day get a bottle. Great scent.

+1 Endymion

Here too, but its a more formal scent for me. Opus does have that drier, lovely cedar tone I am so fond of.

Don't forget Love Potion # 9 here. I wasn't keen on it when I first got a bottle, but it has easily overtaken Endymion for me.

Yeah i was talking about Elixir. Another good woody scent that is much cheaper that is very cedar rich is Gucci Por Homme.

Elixir, could not get over the too-heavy opening of eucalyptus. But Love Potion #9 was good, very good. And English Fern also works in summer, but would be great in fall and early winter.
