Fahrney and Levenger ink?

I've picked up ink from both these places and I think I like the Fahrney ink more (Right now I use Sherwood Green, Sepia Brown, and Lake Placid Blue). Definitely more than the Parker and Waterman inks which I have used in the past (more for the color than the quality!).
What does everyone think of these inks?

Those sound like Private Reserve names, at least Sherwood and Lake Placid. The PR inks are highly saturated (lots of color, heavy on the dyes) and for me they tend to feather and bleed, even on fairly good paper. I used up a bottle of Levenger Cobalt blue and never replaced it because it did the same thing (feathering on some papers).

Lately I'm sticking with inks made by famous pen companies. Dull maybe, but safe and well-behaved. Sounds like someone I used to go out with.

Fahrney's inks are indeed made by Private Reserve, which is one of my favourite brands of ink - great colours and very well behaved in all of my pens.

I do agree with Doug that they do tend to feather when used with broader nibs, but most of my writing is done with fine or medium nibbed pens.

I think the Leverger Cobalt Blue is a very nice ink.

I've used most of the Levenger colors, and found them to be good middle of the road inks. I agree with Doug, that there can be some feathering with B nibs, but a lot is paper dependent. They were my main ink a few years ago. Never had them cause any problems with pens.

Cobalt Blue is still a commonly used blue for me.

I'm a fan of Levenger inks and the Cobalt Blue, Cocoa, and Raven Black are permanent residents of my ink inventory. Levenger also produces the best ink bottle in the business in my opinion. Every time I empty a Levenger bottle, I clean it and use it to hold other inks from brands whose bottles aren't really good for filling from.

Private Reserve inks also hold a top spot in my inventory along with Diamine, but both of those brands get decanted into my empty Levenger bottles.
