Facial Soaps .....for general use for sensitive skin!

I have very sensitive facial skin and have been looking for a good gentle facial soap for washing. I've heard Cetaphil is good as well as a castile favorite named, Kirks (around since 1839). Have any of you used either or found a better soap? Thanks!

Vanicream facial cleanser. It's bare bones and cheap. I've got major sensitive and dry skin esp in winter and it does the trick.

Dove "sensitive skin" bar soap. Good stuff, moisturizes, decent ingredient rating from EWG, and great price compared to many - especially if you buy the large pack at Costco when its on sale (as it is this month)

I'm a herbalist of 35+ years and I prescribe and recommend real handmade traditional soaps with no manmade chemicals or colours, preservatives or stabilisers such as Palestinian certified organic Olive oil Nablus soap, French Fer a Cheval 72% olive oil soaps or Savon de Marseille shea butter soaps or Syrian - Aleppo - Kasebella 50% - 70% Laurel Oil / 30% - 50% Olive oil soaps for eczema, psoriasis, sunburn, razor rash, ingrown hairs, blackheads, whiteheads, vitiligo, cancer radiation damaged skin, prickly heat, itching caused by skin lice and scabies and mosquito and insect bites and stings etc and they have been used successfully for decades by myself - giving immediate relief and the simplest handmade artisan soaps above are effective deodorants (because the high essential oil content kills germs and goes right through the skin into the capillaries and then into the general blood circulation) and also dog, cat, rodent and insect repellants which you need in a sub-Saharan or tropical climate.African black soap is absolutely brilliant as well.Personally I would go for soaps with 4 ingredients or less.

I've used Kirks as a bath soap and like it. It's a bit drying and I prefer other soaps, like Dr. Bronner's baby soap or pure olive oil soap, but I buy it occasionally because I do like it. Dove sensitive skin bars are gentler and work well too although I don't feel like they clean quite as thoroughly.

I don't really use liquid facial cleansers so am not sure how they compare. My guess is they'd be similar to Dove bars?

Great advice.

I know what causes a problem with my very dry skin, for me it is anything with Tartrazine which is also shown as E102 and others. Particularly found in lemon and citrus scented soaps.

Currently using Dove sensitive soap which is okay, not sure if this is a grievance but it has a hard plastic feel, seems to last a long time though.

Dove was formulated in a laboratory, it's made in huge factories and contains lots of man-made chemical junk including titanium dioxide etc which is not brilliant to put it mildly but if it works for you that's the main thing Vacumatic.

I've completely reversed most serious skin complaints in 5-14 days max and my clients saw immediate results and gained almost instant relief from redness, itchiness and swelling etc using high quality simple olive oil, coconut oil, shea butter, glycerine and laurel oil soaps.

Good 72% olive oil soap attends to dry skin in a jiffy; the vast majority of commercial soaps strip the skin of natural oils which leads to itchiness and irritation and sometimes even inflammation.

My difficult cases were resolved with allergy testing and subsequent gentle treatment with dead sea clay, Himalayan pink sea salt, epsom salts, magnesium and potassium supplements, essential oil and herbal baths, homeopathy, acupuncture, fasts and purges to get rid of toxins and bring homeostasis balance with hormones and skin mantle PH.

You are what you eat so an excellent balanced diet combined with pure water and moderate exercise and fresh air and sunshine generally sorts dis-ease out and acts as a prophylatic.
