Meh, we already have a web site where we can post about whats going on with our shaving and lives. Seems a bit redundant posting on the FB page as well.

I just joined the Facebook B&B group and then thought to myself, "what am I going to post here when the B&B board is super?"

Hmmmm.

Left fb a while ago over the privacy issues and haven't looked back.

+1. I started to get so much garbage and spam from fb I left. Plus, before I knew it I was learning everything I did not want to know from others who felt compelled to tell the world every piece of minutia they could find.

But I don't like the idea of quitting the FB group which suggests something negative about B&B. I think I'll just leave myself as a member who happens to be inactive.

Sort of unsatisfying, but I can't come up with a better alternative.

I don't Myspace, Tweet, Facebook or participate in any of the other so-called social networking sites. I don't feel the need to know what my ex-girlfriend from ages ago is doing, nor do I want other people to seek me out who haven't contacted me or cared about me otherwise in the past 30 or so years. My online social interaction is relegated to a few select forums. This one is my newest, and I've come to appreciate all that is has to offer. My personal interactions are just that - personal. Believe me when I say that I don't in the least feel left out by not being engaged in the other venues.

But that's just me. :001_smile

I feel the same way you do (and I was in college when Facebook started), but unfortunately, the world is moving in such a way that if you aren't on some sort of social networking thing, you're out of the loop. The growing trend of employers recruiting through Facebook, LinkedIn, etc., or sending out mass communications through Facebook proves this.

I left Facebook prior to graduating from college, just before it "exploded" into what it is now. I really don't want to join it again. And I really hate it when people say Facebook is the best way to contact them.

I joined the group, mostly to annoy one of my friends who thinks that wetshaving is a massive waste of time.

 Because most people can't fathom spending more than 2 or 3 minutes shaving. And the whole idea of making lather with a brush seems so antiquated and unneeded.

I agree with you. Sadly, it is becoming more and more difficult to ignore social networks. However, I don't plan on becoming active on any of them anytime soon.

That, and I probably talk about shaving a little bit too much over facebook. We've all been there. Friends get annoyed by our shaving obsessions.
