FS Extremely old Simpson large PJ shaving brush.

Extremely old Simpson PJ style brush. Lampblack stamped “BULLOCK’S WILSHIRE” (that’s with a U not an O!) opposite side to sticker. In its heyday, Bullocks was patronized by John Wayne, Walt Disney and Alfred Hitchcock among others. Large bulb-style knot in a silky soft three band silvertip with decent backbone and high fill density. Knot diameter 29 mm at the handle, height ~60 mm. The handle is 73 mm tall, ~40, 21, 41 (at base) mm diameter at the widest and narrowest points. Weight 119 g (~4.2 oz.). Very good condition for such an old piece. This brush will give anything else a run for its money – the old Kent BK12 was floppy by comparison. Modern PJ styles lack the voluptuous curves that the old ones had.
