Examples of Handle Styles for Custom Brush?

I'm getting closer to ordering my first custom brush from Rudy Vey.

Since I bowl lather, he has recommended a few styles of handle: Barbershop, AS3M, PJ or the R7, Polo.

Sadly, I don't know what any of these styles look like. Can anyone point me to some examples, or post some photos of the different styles?

Here's an example of the Polo style handle.

Here's an example of the Persian Jar style.

There's a picture of an AS3M in this thread: http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php/335033-AS3M-help-needed-with-dimensions

You can probably find an example of one of Rudy's AS3M's on this site if you look. Here a link to an example of the Simpson AS3M design.

And here is an R7.

Also, just looked quickly and found one of Rudy's AS3Ms here.

Best way I've found to search is to use Google and do a site search, e.g., Rudy AS3M site:badgerandblade.com.

Good luck. Let us know what you decide.

Rudy sent me email today with a couple of examples. I'm still leaning toward the PJ, but I'm not sure yet.

Does anyone have a preference for one style of handle over another based on comfort? I bowl lather, if that's any consideration.

Of the limited brushes I've tried so far, I consider the SOC to have the most comfortable handle and the B&B Essential boar to have the least comfortable handle for me.

As always, your suggestions are welcome.

It all comes down to personal preference. I like The AS3 and *7 shapes better than PJs and Polos based on 1) aesthetics and, more importantly, 2) how I like to hold brushes (see pics). The AS3 and M(or L or R)-7 are more comfortable in my hand. As between the AS3 and the *7, I think I lean toward the AS3. But that's just me.

Good advice, Ken.

This week, I'll pay close attention to how I hold my brushes. I suspect I may do better with the AS3 for comfort, even if I do like the aesthetics of the PJ shape.
