Every Man Jack synthetic brush

Just got this in the mail today!

View attachment 273443

Test-lathered with my VDH Glycerin (translucent orange) soap, and some of the pictured EMJ cedarwood cream. It worked wonderfully with both, at least doing a quick lather in the palm of my left hand. And it definitely appears to be a more dense knot than those at The Body Shop.

It will be interesting to see how it works out. So far I like the handle for its shape and its height. I actually used to have an Omega "synthetic badger" (dyed fibers, not the plain white "Syntex" knot) brush that I only sold on here because of the handle's uncomfortable square shape.
I also used to have a Shavemac #25 23mm best badger (or whatever is one grade below silvertip) brush, and I didn't really like it either. I'm not sure if it was due to its lather-hogging tendencies, or the bulb-shaped knot. I guess I'll learn to either love or hate this brush!

Anyway, I'll keep you all posted. Have any of you used this brush before?

I've not used the brush before but have used the cream and enjoyed it. Let me know how it works. I'm interested in trying a synthetic brush.

It's going to take me some getting used to again; I've forgotten how synthetic brushes don't really absorb water the way animal brushes do. Getting the water portioning just right will come back to me soon though, I'm sure.

Jeff (lowjax), I used to have an Omega 643174. I've never really been able to get a brush to retain heat for my second pass, so I can't dock the synthetic there. It does have a significant backbone, so while it can lift soaps with ease, it does require some pressure when lathering the face, which is quite unlike badgers. The tips do feel quite soft though.
Also that Omega seems to be more of a fan shape than my EMJ's bulb shape. I'll see how I ultimately feel about that soon enough. What I will say is I didn't find the handle of the 643174 to be particularly comfortable, and its smooth sides could make it even more difficult to grip if a little bit of your slick lather drips down.
Again, having said all this, I do like synthetic bristles. They seem easier to work with than badger or boar.

YMMV

Here, see the brush at work. It works nicely with Cella.

This was enough for last night's 3-pass shave, and still had a bit left over.
