What's new

EverReady's next in line.

A good friend of mine passed away just recently and his wonderful wife just sent me a few of his things….including these old handles.

The EverReady 836A (cream/white) is one he had polished up. I think I will set a 20mm finest two-band fan in it.

The other one….which I can only read the model number—203 on, is also possibly an EverReady? This butterscotch/rubber looks like an 18mm finest candidate to me.

I also was gifted a few of his old Gillette’s too. I think these brushes, once restored and his razors will be a fine remembrance.

Nice mate !

In some ways just as good as a family heirloom.

As they say, You can at least pick your friends, but you can't pick your family !!! :001_smile

Just realized the butterscotch one unscrews. Setting an knot in this will be a new challenge as I think I want to preserve the lower space for something...shaving cream maybe.

Hi Schwert, the 203 is a Rubberset. They are real fun restores, especially if you file or sand down the mold ridges! Super cool handles, looking forward to the finished product!!:thumbup1:

Ahh, Rubberset thanks, I know I have seen this one restored here but could not find it.

Did you completely fill the hollow? I thought it might be neat to fill the rubber head with epoxy to the threads only, then drill it out, and set my knot. Leaving the base hollow for something.

Yes, I filled the hollow with a wine cork and epoxied the threads for fear of leaks causing mold down the road.

Sorry to hear about your friend, but if he's like me he's up there now smiling that you're carrying on and enjoying his restoration projects.
