Eveready Brush

I was in a local pharmacy and there were a couple of brushes made by Eveready. They were boar and about $12.00. Does anybody have any experience with them. All I could find on the web is they are an old brand and it looks like nobody uses or sells them. That in itself probably tells me alot.

I have read on another site that the name has been resurrected by the same manufacturer who makes the VDH brushes.

Was it this one? I bought one at Wal*Mart years ago in a slightly different box.

I picked up the Burma-Shave brush in late July and have been using it on alternate days every since.

Not a glamorous brush, but works very well for me. Sheds 2 or 3 hairs a week, consistently.

If you want something quick and handy go for it. If you're willing to wait, you're probably a little better off with a an Omega for $11 shipped from West Coast Shaving.

I have one of these - they're available on daBay as well. The handle is plastic, not hard rubber like the vintage Ever-Ready brushes folks here look for. Someone here DID do a restore with one of these handles though, replacing the Boar with Badger.

I have the VDH brush too. The Ever Ready has more backbone and seems like a better brush to me than the VDH. The knot just seems tighter. Mine does not shed. My VDH brush sheds regularly. Like every shave.

I find this Ever Ready does well with Tallow Based soaps (Cella, Moos, Arko) but lately I've been beating up my Proraso with it and it does a good job there too. I did break it in with soaps though.

All that aside, there are other brushes to consider in the 12.00 range in badger on the net (Omega, Vulfix), though there is definitely value to be had in being able to pick something up locally.

I have an older badger Ever Ready brush that has been a solid performer for many years. It's small compared to most brushes these days but does the job well and doesn't loose hair.
