Ever had an aftershave lotion that was a big disappointment on performance?

About ten days ago I received a bottle of GFT's Spanish leather aftershave. I love the scent of the cologne, which I have enjoyed for a good five years, but the aftershave doesn't deserve the term of "aftershave". It does NOTHING well, IMHO.

I'm actually having some issues with Speick splash, which I am not happy about. Love the smell, love the soap. Think it's the alum that's causing me grief. I've had issues with it in the past.

Aqua Velva Musk. Its such a strong scent you can't possibly use enough of it to get any Aftershave effects out of it. Too bad, because as it wears off I like it. I'm talking like 8 hours after application. No good.

Tabac. Holy crap that stuff gives me a headache. It was a free sample, and I only keep it around because my great grandfather's bathroom drawer smelled of it. He passed when I was 4/5 and my great grandma passed when I was 20, so i remember the smell quite fondly. I take a whiff now and then just to remember BUT I can't wear it. Nope.

AdP balm was a painful one. Smells amazing of course, but healing skin care wasn't much. Expensive lotion.

Musgo Real - Felt like I splashed my face with a light glue. Reading through reviews I expected more.

About 25 years ago I tried out the aftershave version of Aramis. Loved the scent out of the bottle, but after about a half hour interacting with my body chemistry, it smelled approximately like dog poo....Needless to say, it didn't stay in the rotation very long.

Speick didn't do much for me. Liked the scent but it disappeared almost immediately.

Lucky Tiger. Smelled nice, but felt I was slashing water with orange zest. Nothing at all.
