I'm thinking Franken-cap-jewel, but I'm not the ultimate authority on Esterbrook. I have several, but they're all the conventional variety. Let us know when you receive it...maybe an in-person examination will reveal more information.Have any of you seen an Esterbrook J cap jewel like this one?

This photo is from an eBay auction that ended recently.
Is this a franken-cap-jewel, or did Esterbrook actually produce such a thing?
And yes, I bought it. Out of curiosity, mostly.
With the better picture I think I would leave it as is!!! You are using it as an carry pen and not a collector.
