Endless Razor Supplies?

Where do these guys on eBay get 'em?? I see the same sellers with this relentless, seemingly endless supply of razors, pouring in like rain week in and week out - same sellers! Where the heck do they get 'em all?? :bored: Baffles me that these people - and if you've been on the 'bay for any time, you know the ones I'm talking about - just keep getting stock in, day after day, week after week. I mean, I've been to the antique stores and flea markets around me but I believe me and a few fellow B&Bers have cleaned them out. Pickings are slim. Unless these people have "pickers" all over the country running for them, I don't know how they do it. Is there a razor factory that I'm not aware of that pumps out vintage Gillettes? Yikes man. Anyone else notice this?

Well, most of those people raid thrift stores as their day job eight hours a day five days a week. You're bound to find stuff when you spend that long looking. People I assume have also started a large network of "friends" who reserve pieces and phone them in when stuff they are looking for comes around the shop.

And Estate Sales.

one particular person was buying on the BST here and at the other shave sites and flipping them on Ebay.

I recently took a vacation and drove through some rural areas. Even though I didn't spend much time hunting, I got four nice razors at very reasonable prices. If you're willing to get outside the big cities, there's a lot left in the wild.

If you got time on your hands I would have thought your going to score razors, the 2 places I get my stuff from get their stuff from house clearances, I just think of how many antique stores are about, if you get in with a certain number of these, and be prepared to travel, I would have thought you will always get your hands on some razors, I am always amazed with the fact that I always visit my 2 stores 1 a month, and always walk away with something, multiply this by 5, 10 or more, and I can see why certain e bay sellers always have a good stock.

My wife and I patrol the yard sales earlier in the summer.
There was this one sale where the guy put a sign on his lawn indicating that he sold collectibles. I looked around and saw a ton of collectible things, but no shaving stuff. I then asked him "do you have any razors or shaving items?" He and his wife both said "you're the second person who's asked us that". They told me that they had a lot of stuff but they didn't put it out for this sale.

He told me to look in the paper for another sale he was having.
It didn't pan out, but the point is the stuff is out there. Some people sit on a bunch of gear just because they collect antiques. Hit the right flea market/yard sale/antique store on the right day and you can cash in too.

That is correct, myself and my other half went out for a run in the car yesterday to a place that has a market, this market has quite a few bric a brac/antique stalls, saw a few rolls about and got talking to a stall holder, he asked what i was intersted in and he told me that there was an antiques fair this coming sunday, and a chap who turns up always has old shaving gear, he does not run a stall, but sells on antique day, now if i was not out and about yesterday this would have passed me by, and this must happen every where, its hit and miss.
