Emile Chouriet info

Hi guys
I posted a request for info on Emile Chouriet watches on watchuseek and no-one either knows anything or rates them (or me!) enough to post anything about them. I really like the styling, they claim to be older than Vacheron Constantin and they are either good enough or unscrupulous enough to have "Geneve" on the dial of one of their models. I admit I am shallow enough to find this very tempting. I know they use Ronda mvts, which are very good, but am reluctant to put down 4.5k yuan on a brand with almost no info about them on the web. Last time I looked my post on watchuseek came up on the first page of Google in response to Emile Chouriet!

I never heard of them and their web site talks long on history meanwhile it says nothing about the mvmt or really much about the watch itself. If Rhonda makes the mvmt, they specialize in quartz. Also just because they talk history doesn't mean some Chinese outfit bought the name a couple years ago. There are too many known entities out there I wouldn't take a chance based on what I see on their Web site unless I missed something.

I'm of the same feeling. I think I was hoping someone'd tell me they are the poor man's Patek and really unusual etc, but they still haven't replied to my email of about a week ago and that's just not good enough- I'm gonna take my money elsewhere. I'll probably get a couple of Orient diving models; loving the GMT.
