So after a month of DE shaving I've achieved it. BBS through my whole face and neck (even used the cotton ball test). I used Mike's soap for the first time along with a Vivo black fibre brush today along with a EJ89 head and Muhle R41 handle.
I shaved with the R41 (2013) for the first time yesterday and became keenly aware of what angle I had to hold the razor for an effective pass. I believe that was the key difference although all the equipment I used today was for the first time (except the EJ head and Muhle handle which I used the day before on the R41.)
Prior to this I could just wipe the EJ89 across my face and not have to bother too much about blade angle. If I heard whiskers being cut that was good enough for me. After yesterday's shave with the R41 I have a greater appreciation of finding the correct blade angle. "The Beast" has actually made me a better shaver!
