EJ89 + Red Personna = Merkur 41C + ?

Hi guys,

After a few blade sample trials I found Red Personnas to be the best for my sensitive skin & medium beard when using my EJ DE89L and have stuck with this combination.

Just for a bit of variety (AD I suspect), I'd like to try an open comb DE. I LOVE the look of the Merkur 41C. I'm looking for some input...

Is the Merkur a suitable razor compared to the EJ, which I believe isn't an aggressive razor?
Any recommendations for a good blade to start with, Personnas?

Feel free to throw up anymore suggestions for open comb razors and blades...

I've owned a Merkur 41c. I sold it because the shaves I got were very similar to the EJde89. Since the 41c is nickel plated, it looks very nice in its own way. It's not like every chromed razor out there.

If you're looking for an open comb that is a bit more aggressive and efficient than the EJde89, consider the Cadet open comb razors or the Fatip razors. Also, consider the Personna Lab Blues if you haven't tried those blades yet.

I would recommend trying the Polsilver SIs if you haven't yet, sharpest blade I've found (short of a feather which was too harsh for me).
