EJ shave set

hi all,

for fathers day, my wife kindly purchased the edwin jagger nickel plated shave set which includes a stand, a mach III type razor (don't worry, it's been "put away") and a pure badger hair brush. my question is simple: am i a fool for really, really liking the brush? i may be a newb to the scene, but i do have a pretty good understanding of what is pleasing to my face and this brush does it for me. is it possible that i don't need to drop a hundy on another brush and can remain satisfied with this one alone? am i missing something? am i missing out on something? is there a bigger picture that's escaping me?

I have an EJ pure badger brush and I like it. It's not my best brush but it works fine for me.

Very high quality brushes can run up to over $1000, so unless you can afford that you will always be "missing out" on "better" brushes.

If you like it then stick with it!

Why question it? If you like it, stick with it. Why look to spend more money for something to replace what you're already happy with? In this case, the "grass is always greener" syndrome makes no sense to me but then it doesn't make any sense to me to spend $100 on a shaving brush when I can be happy with and get the performance I need for a fraction of that cost. Is a
$100(+) brush better than a $30 brush? Maybe, but I'm guessing that it's not $70(+) dollars worth. You don't need a magical, purebred unicorn brush with a jackalope horn handle to get a great shave. Save your money and enjoy your brush.

use whatever works for you. I have a whipped dog brush that costs less than $30 and its about perfect for me, so I don't feel the need to get a more expensive brush

Hee hee! Whatever works for you is what is important. i absolutely adore my $20 Frank Shaving synthetic brushes and my Rooney 1XL and Chubby 1 two-band! They are just different, but i could live with just the synthetic if i had to. Good thing i don't have to, though.
