Edwin Jagger Soaps.

What are these Soaps like compared to Arko, Cella and Tabac? Should i fork out and give them a shot or should i just keep lathering up my current soaps?

Harder to lather

They are solid, so you need to load up a lot longer than usual

The scents are divine though, and they per for pretty well

EJ Sandalwood soap is one of my favorites. It takes a little longer to load but I find the lather very protective and slick. I think the EJ/Muehle soaps are the missing link between the French and the English soaps.

If you're not opposed, I have found the cream to smell incredible and be pretty easy to work with. On top of that, the performance is top notch. Maybe just dumb luck, but my very best shaves have been with EJ creams.

I just ordered some of the sandalwood soap. It smells amazing and i can't wait to try it out on my next shave!

I am a big fan of EJ Sea Buckthorn soap! I found it very easy to lather but it did not like a lot of water (strange). I love the scent and the performance was great. I got my refill for only 8 bucks so I think it was a worthwhile venture.

I have the EJ Aloe Vera, which I've learned from B&B threads to lather easily--lots of water, pretty long loading time. It provides excellent lather and shaves. I really enjoy Cella, Tabac, MWF, Razorock XXX, Pre de Provence, and Arko, and I regard EJ Aloe Vera as right up there with them in my rotation.

Picked up the Sea Buckthorn and a Sandalwood soap for £5 each at a local Chemist.

They both smell AMAZING but havent had a chance to lather them yet..

Stiff brush and longer loading time does the trick. Also try rubbing on the face like a shave stick. Load heavily no matter what if you want good lather from them.

I had no idea they offered the Sea Buckthorn in a soap. o_O

I currently use their Aftershave Balm in that scent and am in love with it. Plus my girlfriend really digs it! I may have to check out this soap now.

It is a wonderful scent! Apparently pretty popular with the ladies too since my fiance wants a puck of her own now!

Same here.

+2

I tried the Muhle Sandalwood. I believe the Muhle, and Edwin Jagger products are identical. The scent was good, but I found the performance subpar. Nowhere near the quality of say Tabac, or Queen Charlotte.

Given the size of the puck, these products are not exactly a good value either.
