I received a sample of the Edwin Jagger lemon pomgranite cream and aftershave balm in the mail yesterday, and had the opportunity to try both of these products this morning with my morning shave. So, I thought I would put of a post on here about my thoughts, and see if anyone else had tried either of these products before.
So I started with the cream, bowl lathering with my pure badger brush. The cream lathered up nicely, not as much lather as I am normally used to, but this may be due to me not using enough product. As this was just a sample and I would like to use it for several shaves to try it out, I may have skimped a little), but I did have enough cream for 3 passes (just barely.) The cream was very slick and rich, and gave me a very comfortable shave. Most mornings I use my TOBS cream or my Tet-a-Tet cream, and it easily had as nice of a lather as either of these two.
After shaving (I had a nice BBS smooth shave on most of my face, but cannot get it on my upper lip due to the fact that I cannot go ATG or XTG there without severe razor burn.) I used the lemon pomegranite aftershave balm. This was nice, but may not have absorbed into my skin as quickly as my other balms do. I found myself washing some balm off of my hands, where usually I don't often need to do that. I may have taken too much balm. Overall the balm left a nice scent which made me happy, although after a few minutes of smelling it I almost felt as if I was wearing a cleaning product, as it did have a very slight chemical smell.
So, having now tried a lemon scented cream, I wanted to know if anyone else had tried one and liked it. I found myself enjoying this experience, and would love to try other similarly scented creams/soaps. Any input?
