I have a handle that I removed (by steaming) knot from and there is glue residue in the hole. Is there an easy way to remove the old glue ? I don't have a dremel.I was thinking about using a hot air gun and then scrap it with some screwdriver or knife. Any ideas ?

The chances are that you will be doing this project more than once....Spend the money on a dremmel,extremely useful tool....Or you can hand sand the glue off.
You might be able to buy a small drum sander that fits in the chuck of an electric or cordless drill and sand it out that way.

The layer of old glue was thin and round so I glued the new knot over it. I have bought Timeless Titanium last week so I don't want to spend any money now, but I will definitely buy a dremel in future.
