Duke 1 Best Badger and Synthetic

I’ve lately taken to face lathering and find my Simpsons Duke 1 in Best Badger to be superb for this. Not wanting to leave well enough alone I ordered a Duke 1 with Sovereign Fiber and cannot believe how dissatisfied I am with this synthetic. I don’t know if it is the grade of fiber but it doesn’t feel like half the brush the badger is. I was hoping for them to be more similar but, nope, not even close. I have the Duke 3 with platinum synthetic, which I really like, and it is my go to brush for bowl lathering.

I sold all of my Simpson synthetics. Sovereign and Platinum. I was not a fan at all.

I still own a dozen Simpson badgers and love them all, but their synths are not good IMO.

I am a big fan of Simpsons badgers. This is another argument to stick with what makes me happy!
