Droid X vs. HTC Incredible

I am due for an upgrade on my phone. I was all set to switch from a blackberry storm 1 to the HTC Incredible. Then I hear about the Droid X and decide to wait for it to be released. I find it incredibly weird that both the HTC and the Droid X sell out within a few days of launch, but here I am waiting now for either phone.

Playing around with the Incredible, the UI seems very friendly. The phone seems pretty neat. The Droid X has that massive screen that is just appealing. I havent been able to play much with the phones in store, i dont like having people stare at me. Im just wondering if anyhone has picked up either phone or done some switches.

I appreciate the comments. BTW...what are the thoughts about the rumors of Verizon switching to the tiered data plan ala ATT?

I'm ready for an upgrade also. I played around with the Droid X at the store, and really liked the huge screen, as it made typing much easier. That being said, it was difficult to reach the far edge of the screen with one hand only. Just to keep your options open, Verizon will be releasing the Droid 2 in August, which should have similar specs to the Droid X and HTC Incredible, but with the slide out keyboard.

HTC has really nailed the Android experience on the head, from what I've read Motorola's Motoblur UI on the Droid X is absolutely terrible, plus "a small number" have been having screen issues.

Just an update. I finally activated the Incredible yesterday. It does feel a bit small in the hands and two handed texting is a bit odd. Ill have to get use to it. I still have 30 days to figure out if I like it. Ill start playing around with the phone this weekend.

Well here is another update. I had the incredible for about two weeks and decided to trade it in for the X. I just felt the keyboard was way to small for me. I can one hand text with the X for those afraid that its to big for that function. I do miss the amoled screen of the Incredible. I just activated the X today, so Ill be playing a bit.

Well I ahve been modding up the X. I have LauncherPro...with a few other goodies. I have customized icons now. Im getting there, but dont think i have the balls to root the phone.
