DR Harris Almond Soap

I've just picked up a DR Harris Almond soap in bowl but the puck smells exactly like the Arlington I already have. I mean it's exact but the color is slightly darker in tint.

Can anyone here verify that the Almond is the same scent as the Arlington or reasonably close? I think DR slipped the wrong puck into the bowl but maybe I'm wrong.

On a side note, I love the DR Harris soaps with Marlborough being my favorite - it's so damn manly! :001_smile

I think they are very similar but the Arlington has more of a fern scent so I tossed the Almond. I haven't tried the Marlborough but how can one argue its not manly since it carries the name of the toughest man....The Marlborough Man.

I've yet to try the Arlington, but I remember that I was less than impressed by the DR Harris Lavender soap after having enjoyed the Almond one for months - I thought "That can't be right, these two smell way too alike".

Took a week's worth of shaving before the lavender scent really developed. I suspect it has to do with all the soaps being similary formulated except for the fragrance.

My wife commented that the Almond smelled like the Lavender to her and I thought she was nuts. :001_smile

I'll use it some more and see what happens.

I found that you need to use a puck of DR Harris for a several days to break through the "outer crust" in order to experience the real scent. My puck of Almond was darn near scentless out of the box, but now it has nice rich almond smell. The Arlington was the same deal after a week of use the real scent came out, which was, in my opinion, much different than the Almond.

If I recall, the soap is the scent of almond blossoms, not the nut itself.

This is new for me, thanks.
I have my share of almond (1kg P.160) so I was avoiding the other almond soaps.
Ok, this one can get back on the list.

I agree with this...I recently bought the Arlington soap, and just yesterday, after a week of use, did I really notice the scent.
