I'll be in the Downer's Grove area of greater Chicago next week going to school. Any area "have to sees" or brick and mortar shaving supplies reasonably close?

I've been to Downers Grove a few times. It's about as safe, charming and "small-town" as it gets for being so close to Chicago.

I used to live in Lisle which is next to Downers Grove. It's a very nice Chicago suburb with great neighborhoods and schools. Tons of shopping and restaurants at your disposal. And best part of all, you're close to the greatest city in the world.

Downers Grove is a great suburb. There are a ton of eating place all along Butterfield Road. The Portillo's is at Butterfield and Findley Road.

Another suggestion is Alfie's Inn in Glen Ellyn on Roosevelt Road for a great hamburger and a beer. Nothing fancy but the place has been around for years and very popular.

Wishoot mentioned Lisle which is very close. If you're in to plants and stuff, The Morton Arboretum is in Lisle and very pretty this time of year.
