Dovo #444 with custom MOP scales and "Solingen" inlay

Just finished this one.
Blade was in very well condition so I decide to make it in matte/brushed finish. New set of scales are made from natural laminated MOP. Original "Solingen" inlay is also inlayed in the scales. Wedge is made from black buffalo horn.

Very nice work! May I ask how the inlay stays on? Some adhesive? I'm looking into making something similar myself.

I apply very thin coat of 2 component epoxy. After glue is well cured I sand everything starting from P280 sandpaper to P800 sandpaper and then full progresion of Micro Mesh.

Regarding the inlay, was it previously on/in another scale? If so, how did you get it out? When you put it onto this scale, did you have to do an "carving" to set it in?
