Double Edge razor markings

Hello all,

I am new to the forum here and I have one question that I have been curious about lately but unable to find a definite answer for. I have noticed in changing and servicing my double edge razor blades for my Merkur safety razor that there are markings on one side of the razor and on each blade reading l and ll respectively on either blade. I have tried to look up an answer and have not found anything that has gone into any detail as to the meaning of these marks. Any assistance in ascertaining their meaning would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I don't own a Merkur razor, but the numbers on the blade are for manufacturing quality control, they don't mean anything to the end user.
