What's new

Done with the bay!

Ok, that's it! I know I'm cheap, but the prices on ebay have gotten stupid! I have been watching several lately, but they have gone for stupid high prices. Am I the only one that thinks this?

To answer your original question, I agree that some of the recent prices have just been silly.

There are only a few razors left that I want. And I realize they aren't going to sell for ten bucks or something. And some I just can't afford and will have to either find in the wild where they don't know what they have or just do without. But I WILL NOT pay the silly prices some of these are going for.

eBay is a good market for specialty items that would sit for years on a local store shelf but yet seem to get fought over online

Shoot, I think I'll take the ones I've got left on the BST & sell them. I should get a couple hundred bucks at least!!

I've always been tempted by some of the razors I see in eBay but the bids always end up way out of my budget. Maybe one day, but I have been more than satisfied with the BST section here on B&B :wink2:

Hey Johnnie, what are the few razors you're looking for? I've bought several razor lots off eBay lately to get a single razor I wanted so I have about 15 razors I need to sell to fund future purchases.
BTW, I elmerwood is right on with watching constantly and being patient. A lot of people don't even know what they have and list with incorrect or incomplete descriptions.

You can pay the full price or wander the streets like some vagrant hoping to find a half bottle of Glenlivet 1975 in the trash : / I've resolute myself to never again try to find a razor in the wild, it's just depressing.

My minty red tip was listed as "prune bottom Guilette razor".
Went through 2 auctions that way. Ebay screwed up on me on first auction, but I got it second time around.

I guess telling you I passed on approx 7-12 DE's in the wild recently would be in bad taste, so I won't. Jk!
Keep looking my friend, they are around!

For a while a couple of months ago I had really good luck picking up a string of great condition things for $10 with no competion, and a couple of special things I really wanted for very cheap, but lately everything I've seen like that, clean and not messed up, has been starting at $20, and attracting other bidders. However, I do know that in my own business in January and most of February no one is spending money for anything. Maybe Ebay has the same kind of after-Christmas lull?

Maybe, and I know there are a lot of people blowing income tax returns now. I just hate to see anyone spending twice what its worth. But I guess the value is whatever they will pay!
