What's new

Does the Indian made Old Spice Original smell like the real thing?

Or does it smell like P&G Old Spice?
If it smells like the original Old Spice formula, it may just be worth stocking up on.:confused1

Some say yes, others say no. I've only smelled the Indian OS "original" shaving cream and it's absolutely fantastic, definitely deeper and spicier than the P&G aftershave.

I have to wonder, however, if those who say "no" can possibly remember with absolute certainty what a new bottle of Shulton smelled like. The Shulton bottles that are still around are all at least 19 years old, and who knows if the juice has changed subtly over time and thereby gives a different scent profile? I honestly don't know, but it says Shulton on the Indian bottles, so I'm inclined to believe it's the original recipe.

I've got some and to my memory it is VERY similar if not the same. If it's not the same recipes it a damn sight closer than the current version!

You find the right scent, you'll unlock any girl.

You do realize that your brain exposes a few neurons into your sinuses, and they're wired directly in behind your prefrontal lobe, right? Your conscious mind is not consulted; your mood changes first, and you have to catch up.

Trust me, people WILL recognize the original after 20 years. It's a matter of sorting out who is in which group; one group will definitely notice it, the other will squint a bit and make a conscious but flawed assessment. Those with enough exposure or with critical exposure, however, will recognize it near-perfectly.

I picked up a Old Spice Lantern Decanter #3632 from a second hand store a couple of days ago that was full to the top. Cracked open the cap and that is the Old Spice I remember from the late 60's thru the 70's, nice full bodied, spicy smell. I also have a bottle of the Indian made Old Spice in the Red Plastic bottle and Nope it's not the same scent as the original one. The Indian one is better than the current classic old spice but alas still not the same as the original from years gone by.
I was very fortunate to find one that had been taken care of, no off smells just the pure old formula juice that I remember as a teenager. I'am going to use this very sparingly and for special occasions.
Keep your eyes open guys as there still is Old Spice out there that is good.
Best of luck in your searches
