When wearing a polo or button down casual shirt, do you tuck it in? Let us assume we are dressing casually and are not in the office on a Friday.

To me, it's very age related. I'm in my mid-twenties. I don't tuck anything in unless I'm wearing a suit. I'm sure when I get older I'll even end up tucking my t-shirts into my jeans haha.

really depends on the shirt. polos no, but sometimes on the golf course. casual button ups, some yes and some no.

Depends on the rest of the outfit. A button down with jeans and brown leather slip-ons, yes. I'll tuck it in. With jeans (rolled sleeves are essential here for me), a sweater vest over top and white 'retro'court/driving-style shoes, no- the shirttails are part of the look, but the shirt can't be overly long. I only want to see the tips of the shirttail- not the whole bottom edge. If it's that long, I'll tuck it in and still wear the vest over the top (I'm known as the Sweater Vest King at my office).

I only wear polos to play golf and rarely to work, but those get tucked in 90% of the time.

No, I won't tuck in unless absolutely necessary. Then again, I live in Southern California, so take this with a measure of salt.

When you get older, you'll find that not only do you tuck everything in, but your belt line migrates northward, ending somewhere between your navel and armpits.

I chose partially. It depends on if I'm carrying concealed with an IWB holster.

Haha Ray! I was thinking the same thing, it depends on what I'm carrying! Note to self: need to get a tuckable holster for at least one of my carry pieces!

Nooooo, don't give in! I told my wife to shoot me should I appear one day looking like Fred Mertz.

when i can. i normally wear a t-shirt, and they all seem to shrink upwards, making it difficult to keep them tucked in at times.

as for the beltline migration: i can't stand having my belt anywhere but on my hips. i've always fastened my pants on my hips since i was a kid.

It doesn't matter if it starts tucked in or untucked. Once my wife sees me, she tells me which way is right for that particular shirt/pant comination. That being said, with a polo shirt and khakis, my shirt is always tucked in. Other shirts it depends on the shirt, the way the tails are hemmed, and, of course, what SWMBO tells me to do.

Unfortunately, I don't find anything laughable about the above quote ... it's hitting WAY too close to home! (and too close to the armpits)

Almost never. An untucked shirt is all that keeps my concealed handgun concealed!:w00t: Can't cause any undue panic when I'm out and about in public, now can I?
