Do you shave everyday?

Do you shave everyday? I find if I do, my face does start to get red and bumpy...I like every second day or so, but if I don't shave everyday, I run between semi- 5 o'clock shadow and irritation.

Curious to know if others are in this situation as well.

Every damn day.

If you have just started, there is a time-frame required to get your face to accept the new reality and toughen up. If you are well in at this point it may be more of a media and technique-thing and less of a face-thing.

That's a big no for me. I'm only 18 so my skin is still pretty sensitive to shaving. Even when I think I'm being careful I usually end up with some small red bumps and ingrowns, although I never get irritation (my aftershaves don't burn too bad when I put them on). I can shave every other day at max, but more like once every 3 days. It sucks too because I actually enjoy shaving and wish I could shave every day. My dad shaves every day with a mach 3 and goop (and it takes him all of 30 seconds) and he never gets ingrowns or cuts.

I shave everyday. The only time I really have a problem, unless I become too aggressive (fast) is when I use products that are for dry skin. They make my face breakout in a rash.

It may be the shaving cream you use or how you prep your face.

Read some of the threads and experiment to see if you can't find some change that will solve the problem.

I shave everyday. Sometimes I want to shave twice. I have a five o'clock shadow by noon if I shave at 7 AM. I also get the bumps if I am not careful. I have found that if I just do two passes on my neck every other day (three passes otherwise) I can alleviate the problem. I also have to remind myself to watch the pressure and let the blade do the work.

As another poster mentioned, give your face time to get adjusted.

I too shave every day. Could be the blades you are using. I found a few that will leave me feeling a bit irritated.

I don't have to shave on the weekend but I do because I enjoy it,I enjoy shaving on the weekend even more because I can really take my time and enjoy the smell of my cream, aftershave and cologne.

I just started shaving every day a couple of weeks ago. I used to reliably take weekends off to let my face heal, even after I switched back to a DE. But results have actually been better since I started shaving every day! I definitely think it's been positive for my briar patch of neck irritation, since the daily approach doesn't let the hairs grow out. Plus it's great motivation to get up on the weekends, hard to sleep until noon when there's the prospect of a leisurely shave at hand! :biggrin1: Also much easier on Monday mornings, I don't have to wake up early to hack off 72 hours of growth before PT (I always shave post-PT...shhh...)

I shave every day...I find that if I go 2+ days, I get a little bit of tugging on the longer whiskers. Plus, I LOVE shaving.

Every day, me, too. I've only been able to do so when I made the switch to DE shaving. any multi-bladed shaving and I'm needing to let the visage rest every other day. DE shaving doesn't leave me with the razor burn and rashes that I'd grown accustomed to when I was a regular Mach3 user.

I wish, I shave once every other day, sometimes even less.

I was just thinking this exact question the other day!

I could shave everyday but I don't, try to shave at least every 2 days sometimes I'll go a week without shaving but that pretty rare.
