I listen to the radio usually... Classic Rock 91.5FM http://www.classicrockfm.com.au/915/

Shaving while listening to AC/DC, Billy Idol, The Police, Led Zepplin, etc, Awesome!!

That one... A bit too epic! I would cut myself before I could see Robin Hood!

I like to hear the Bangles, or a little Pat Benatar in the morning when I'm shaving. I'm also partial to Linda Ronstadt, Neil Diamond, Billy Joel and Michael Buble.

I'll sometimes listen to music, and sometimes just listen to the sound of whiskers losing another battle with my blade.

A great album for shaving time is Sinatra's September Of My Years. Those old enough to relate will enjoy The Man in The Looking Glass, a humorous song that seem right while you are dealing with the man in the looking glass.

The one that stays with me after the shave, however, is Once Upon a Time:

"How the breeze ruffled through her hair
How we always laughed as though tomorrow wasn't there
We were young and didn't have a care
Where did it go?"

There is something contemplative, self absorbed and bittersweet to me about a great shave that matches this. Once the scenery in the rear view mirror becomes as expansive as the road ahead, being alone and fully focused on something as basic as a shave provides a fertile field for memories and thoughts about what must come.

It probably sounds silly, but that time spent with razor in hand and mind free from the relentless assault of the distractions of modern life has added something to my outlook that I value, even if it's not always upbeat and and happy. I find myself choosing music that reflects this, or opting for the simplicity of silence.

If you do a search in the archives, you'll find a very long thread on the topic from not all that long ago. Features a metal band that is very talented at hair twirling.:lol::lol:

Yes, I listen to music as I shave an prepare myself for the day. I have a wall mounted mini-system that allows me to listen to the radio or to my CDs.

weekdays-mike and mike on espn2, or classic rock.

weekends-classic rock, or whatever's on history or sy fy tv channels.

We listen to Morning Edition on public radio week days, so that's what I hear during breakfast and while dressing. But, it is quiet in the bathroom. I only have the sound of silence and shaving - whiskers being cut, razor swirling in the sink water, as I rinse off the lather.

I listen to either classical or some classic jazz - Miles Davis , Coltrane , Wes Montgomery and the like while shaving.
