Do you like Proraso Pre-Shave cream?

I have used the Green in the past and I probably put too much on as it made my eyes water. It probably didn’t help that I also used Proraso Green shaving cream at the same time.

The Amazon reviews are great, one guy like myself, was using PREP and preferred Proraso. I ordered the green.

Not for me.
One of the very few (two to be precise) products that I developed a reaction to.

With respect to Amazon shaving product reviews, I put more faith in reviews on places like this one, where people are more knowledgeable about shaving.

Lastly, I have long given up on dedicated pre-shave products.
While a solid pre-shave is important, some water, a wet sponge/washcloth, some facial (e.g. glycerine) soap, and three minutes achieve IMO the same results.

I don't use it all the time but I do use the White version. Doesn't compete with my soaps scents. I use it with blades from sample packs that are rough to me. Also if I've not shaved for a few days.

I found that Proraso green preshave did not improve my shave and in some cases seemed to worsen the lather. I then tried using it as a post shave - I enjoyed the menthol but not the way it left my skin feeling sticky. So, I finally used it up as an all over body moisturiser, which was great - cooling in summer and bracing in winter due to the menthol. I now do very little preshave preparation, sometimes I even face lather straight onto my dry face without first applying any water. I have never noticed any difference to the finished shave as my face lathering does all the prep I need. My only variable is to make a wetter lather when using a straight or my Feather Artist Club DX.

I really like Proraso in general, the value is outstanding, it's easily available, and works very well on my face. As for the pre-shave, I have used green and white; typically the green for that cooling sensation in the warmer months and the white for other times. Not sure it helps a lot but it feels good. Let us know what you think!

I went through my first jar of the green earlier this year. Now I’m on a jar of the blue. The consistency of the blue is different; softer and creamier. The green feels more like coconut oil.

I’d like to try all of them eventually. So far I prefer the green. And like @ajkel64 the green makes my eyes water a bit.

Pre-shave seems to help, but it could be placebo.
