Do you alternate blades?

Gentlemen,

It seems to be accepted practice among users of straight razors to have at least two razors and to not use the same razor two days running. I've read that this is to allow the edge to 'grow'.

I haven't seen this promoted for DE users so I wondered if any of you follow this practice. Alternatively I wonder if the DE blades have a fundamental difference from the straight blades that negates the need to rest the blade?

nope... I use the same razor and blade combo for about 3 or 4 shaves... then I will iether switch out blades, or the blade and razor. I favor Red IP's for my old type, and feathers in my SS Red Tip.

Its not like getting herbs from the garden. I'm all for alternating, but I dont believe that blades need to "rest." Especially disposable DE blades

I was rotating among Feathers, Iridiums and 7 O'Clock Yellows. However, I've gone almost entirely to Feathers lately. I'm getting terrific shaves with them.

No really. I use the entire pack of blades before moving on. Each brand a blade requires some adjustment to my technique so there is not point to switching blades around too much.

Right now I'm rotating between five different injectors, but it's nothing to do with letting the blades "rest". It's just that I was experimenting, realized that I had blades in more razors than I'd intended, and decided to switch between them until I'd worn the blades out. Since I get between 6 and 10 shaves per injector blade, that will still take a little while.

With a DE or SE blade, I'll use it for consecutive shaves until it's used up.
