Disposing of Astras

I have just about exhausted my stash of old Derby blade cases. I now have a 100 pack of Astras on order and am trying to determine the best way to dispose of those blades since they do not have a plastic case. What does everyone else do? I historically have used the old cases to hold used blades. Now that I will not have a hard case, I am not sure of a safe way to dispose of the used blades.

Thanks in advance.

There are lots of ideas. You can buy one of the Feather blade banks (they only cost a couple of bucks), or drain a soup can, cut a slot in the top, and use that. I use an old fish oil capsule bottle, but I don't have any little ones around to worry about. Soe guys even get a medical sharps container.

I emptied my can of Barbasol , cut a slit in the side, cut the little tube inside and bam! blade bank. Found the instructions here but can't find the thread now for some reason.

I'm using an Altoid tin with a slit cut into the lid. It's small and doesn't add too much clutter to my already crowded bathroom ;)

I just noticed that the built-in medicine cabinet in my house has a slot in the back for disposing of blades. It feels odd just putting them into the wall but I think I've give it a try!

If I should decide to stop doing this I think I'll just use an old Altoids tin and just use it as is.

Yup. I bought a money tin (about 0.65 euros) because I'm lazy enough not to cut the slot...:biggrin1:

I simply put them in an empty blade box until it's full and then firmly tape before placing in the trash. I don't put them in recycling as I think that there's more likelyhood that they would be touched by human hands.

Needs milk and a bidet!
just about anything can be used for disposal of used razor blades. I'd say just use your best judgment. maybe make something out of an old soup can or coffee can. I like the simple look of the WCS white blade bank.
