Differences in Dovo stainless models?

As someone totally ignorant of straights I am trying to figure out whether there is any real difference in the Dovo models as far as the relative quality of the blades. In particular, the Dovo 41 seems to get some love but I haven't found much information on the other Dovo stainless blades - is there any real difference or will a 5/8 41 perform similarly, in terms of edge retention, smoothness, what have you, to a 6/8 300?

I guess in other words what I am trying to say is there any real difference in Dovo Inox razors, other than width, type of point, etching, and scales?

I thought there are only 3 stainless blades that dovo makes
the 41, the 105 and the renaissance.
I have had the first two, not the last and in my opinion they were different. But the differences may have been in the honing too as one of them had been originally honed by Lynn.

Oops, I'm sure you are probably right, sorry. Pardon my ignorance.

Question still stands, I suppose, is there anything empirical that makes one particular Dovo "better" somehow than the next model? The 41 has a pretty good reputation, the other stainless Dovos have somewhat of a reputation for being less than smooth, and I'll be dipped if I can figure out why there is any difference. :confused1

I was in contact with Dovo a while back. They said that they use the exact same blade for all of their 5/8 razors: #41, micarta, MOP, you name it.

The Renaissance is obviously a different blank, as it is a different size and outline.

I have found the Dovo stainless models to be excellent in both keeness and smoothness.
