I haven't seen this posted anywhere, (perhaps because it is something that should be self-evident), but I have encountered a problem with Dettol shaving cream I bought from the local Indian supermarket.
Yes it lathers up well, yes it works brilliantly and does everything that is expected.
The problem is the scent. A lovely lemony limey smell - until you realise where you've smelt it before. It is Dettol.
Yes, Dettol shaving cream smells of Dettol. (You read it here first!)
And if you're aware of the smell of Dettol, then its impossible to not feel that you're vigorously disinfecting the entire bathroom every time you shave.
It isn't something I picked up on when sniffing the tube before I bought it, it is only upon lathering it up that the aroma is released (and released it is).
If you don't mind the distinctive smell of Dettol, or aren't aware of what it smells like, then you won't have a problem.
But if, like me, you are - then watch out!
(What makes it worse is the 30% extra free in the tube - it's going to be a while before I get through all that! I intersperse it with Arko to give me senses a break!)
