What's new

Dear Tabac

Tabac,

You might not remember me. We had a brief fling a couple years ago and parted ways on bad terms. I've come to realize the mistake I've made. Please take me back. I've changed. I'm more mature now.

Just used Tabac again today. It's only the second time I've ever used it. I'm just getting into using soaps and face lathering. I've mostly used creams and a scuttle to build my lather. Tabac and MWF are the two soaps I've used so far and even though I struggle to build as good a lather as I do with creams in my scuttle.... I must say that with those two I have not had a bad shave yet. My point is.... even bad lather with those soaps seems to be good enough to get the job done. I'll continue to work at it and I'll get better in time I'm sure. I've got a great brush for soaps and face lathering.... a Rooney Heritage Stubby 1XL. I love the smell of Tabac. I should probably pick up a bottle of the AS sometime. Good stuff.

Ms. Tabac is flirting with me since a generous member here PIF'd a puck to me. I'm waiting to finish a sliver of a puck of VDH I have in my mug and for the weather to get out of the 80's. Something about Tabac that seems it is a fall scent. I'm hoping she will be kind and gentle to me. But then again, perhaps I need a little spice and leather!

I face lather with both of these fine soaps Ben, as I do with all soaps and creams, and enjoy them very much. I am glad that you rediscovered Tabac MB, it is one of those soaps that I liked immediately. The performance of this soap is outstanding and for me, always leaves my face feeling great.

Regards,

Doug

I've been poo-pooing tabac for years. Lately with the success I've been having with other tallow soaps I decided to give it a try again. I think it's a combination of my soap skills increasing and having since moved to brushes with stiffer backbones. I even like the smell now, maybe Arko has blown out my scent receptors and caused irreparable damage.

Dear Monkeyboy: I Guess little miss Arko wasn't all that after all was she?! I suppose your finally ready for something more serious for once? Im not sure if I believe that you are capable of being monogamous but I'll give you a second chance.
Yours always,
Tabac

Tabac is like the girl you grew up with, reliable, consistent and always there for you when you come back to your senses... My love affair with this soap has lasted 36 years.
