DE shaving supplies in Japan

My beloved Navy is sending me OCONUS to Yokosuka, Japan (homeland of feather blades!) in about 6 month.

Does anyone know how difficult it is to get shaving supplies in Japan. Do most corner convenience stores/pharmacy carry DE blades and shave soaps?
Or should I stock up now and ship it with my household goods?

You'll be able to get DE blades just about anywhere. You're also in for some of the best aftershaves in the world. Get to know the little neighborhood drug and cosmetic stores. You'll find that there are a bunch in the little arcades and along the shopping streets near Yokosuka Chuo train station.

Soaps and creams are a different story. There aren't any popular Japanese soaps that I know of, and I haven't even come across any boutique ones. Gel is much more common than cream too. Bring what you need, and be prepared to order the rest.

Hardware? Feather makes a TTO DE that you could probably compare to the metal and plastic Kronas. I think that you can find custom brushes in a couple of places, but I wouldn't count on it.

Thanks for the info.

I think I'll pack 3-4 jars of Mamma Bear shave soap in my household goods. (I can't imagine going back to gel-in-a-can)

Yep, I'll second what The Nid Hog said...blades and aftershaves shall ye find in abundance...soaps, creams, and brushes not so much.
