DE Engravings: Part II

Here's the post plated head for the engraving done from this thread.
The new plating didn't distort the engraving.

Thanks. I've got a couple of boys and this would be nice to have for them. I also want to look into acid sketching. There is also a list of dozens of fonts to use. The possibilities are endless but since it's done with a computerized rotor or laser, the jeweler says that the surface needs to be flat to best take on the engraving. I guess I've got to experiment some more.

Would the bottom of the head have a large enough flat area to do like a last name? Seems like its be enough of a personal touch but not overly flashy! I like it either way though nice work!

I'm gonna look into that. Maybe I can figure something out with the person who does the engraving.

Sweet! Just awesome. I wish a custom handle with a name engraved down the side like a baseball bat could be done. Very cool.

The nice thing about acid etching is that the design is sooth, rather than rough such as an engraver. If you've any drawing skills the possibilities are endless. Given that you're already experienced with electroplating, etching would be a cinch.

Really pretty!

I just gave my late father's 60s SuperSpeed to my teenage son (it was a bit of a wrench to let it go, even to him) -- and told him that if he wanted to get it replated, later on, that's something we could do.

If he takes to traditional shaving, I'd thought to get it personalized for him with my dad's initials, mine, and his. Am I right in thinking this process would be a possible way to do that, for a SuperSpeed?
