What's new

DaVinci 290 and 293 owners - is the handle made of plastic or resin material ?

I wonder if the black handle is made of plastic or resin material in the Davinci 290/293 brush ?

I don't like black platic so much, since it seems to show shaving cream build up easier and just don't like the look of black plastic in a handle.

However black resin handles look very nice.....so hope the Davinci 290 and 293 is made from black resin.......or I'll buy thr 296 model in ivory imitation :001_tt1:

I was wondering that as well.I checked the USA website and the handle is made of perspex which is a resin.

Claus: I like that 292 also, but it doesn't seem to be available from the US distributor and I'm just not sold on the bullb handle of the 290.

Me neither, Bob.
I like the taller black resin handle - but not the compact globe bulb one.

So I will try to get the 22 mm in the black resin handle and the 25 mm in the ivory beige with the rouded circles - looks like the same design handle I have in my brown caramel colored SimFix Snaefell by the way.

I will contact Davinci in Germany tomorrow and see what they can offer me, and at what price......

In fact I will get the 25 mm in 292 handle and the 22 mm in the 293 handle.

I remember seeing a blurb somewhere that said Perspex is the UK trade name for Plexiglas. I've no idea if that is true. I do like the 293.

Cheers, Todd

I just recently got the 290. It's very unique. It's opaque black plexiglass with no mold lines - perfectly smooth, and the chromed band is metal. The globe handle is very comfortable - Plisson makes a similar handle in metal.
