D.R. Harris in Canada?

Good evening ladies & gents!

I am in the middle of a somewhat extreme search for a store in Canada that carries some of D.R Harris' colognes. While I know that there are many sites that will ship these products to Canada, I'm not necessarily looking to blind buy any products, seeing how they are somewhat pricey.

That being said, have any fellow Canadians found such a store that carry these? I browsed through a few drug stores this week but all they seem to carry are Ed hardy, Calvin Klein and the regular batch of mainstream colognes.

Or maybe someone knows of a place where samplers can be ordered?

Thanks! :badger:

Fendrihan.com and Rasage Poulin (spelling).com are two Canadian sites that carry seemingly all the British colognes.

Thanks for the links!

Sadly I couldn't find any decants/samples of D.R. Harris from said B&B thread, and as mentioned earlier I'd really prefer not to blind buy any of their products, seeing how they have so many and I'd like to try out a handful!

I will continue my search, maybe even take a road trip to the states in the future when I get to completing my passport forms if I still haven't found anything :001_rolle

Thanks again :001_smile

I think you would be hard pressed to find many stores in the U.S. that carries D.R. Harris such that you could sample the fragrances. In New York City - probably; in Omaha - definitely not.

I am discontinuing D.R. Harris. The distributor in Canada that D.R. Harris uses charges far too much for the products he does carry, and doesn't carry D.R. Harris' complete offerings, making it illogical to continue carrying the products, unfortunately. I like the products, it just doesn't make much sense for me to keep stocking them.

I spoke with a managing director down at D.R. Harris in London and she had this to say:

"It may sound odd, but as we have previously used a distributor in Canada (who has now ‘disappeared’) I have no up-to-date details of stockists in Canada. We do not have a sample set of colognes at present but it something we are actively working on so please bear with us and keep an eye on the web site if you will!"

Disappearing distributors....overcharging distributors.... It's no wonder it's almost impossible to find these products locally! :thumbdown

Oh well, seeing that the month of June is JunArlington, I think I may just go and get my hands on a bottle of Arlington and start my quest from there.

You're right, can't seem to find samples from this company anywhere! I suppose for now the best thing you can do is read some of the reviews here.

Good luck on your search, hopefully DR Harris will get the hint from other companies to offer sampler packs as well. I haven't heard much about this company on Basenotes, so we more then likely aren't missing out on anything too special.

How rotten that DRH's distribution in Canada is so poor. It certainly IS a product worth seeking out ... I have nothing but good things to say about the Arlington shave soap and A/S that I have ... JunArlington here we come!!

In this day and age sampler packs are the way to go for a company to get its name out there! Even if they charge to recoup some costs.

I haven't tried the cologne, but the shave soap and aftershave ... IS something special IMHO. :001_cool:

Lol.

Write her back and give her my email address! Maybe I'll be able to afford to stock D.R. Harris if they'll let me avoid going through a distributor in Canada.

It depends on where you are in Ontario,. but you can find SOME DR Harris product if you explore and are patient.

Oddly, there are several barber shops in major Ontario malls that often have a little bit of stuff on the shelf.

I have seem Arlington AS (or was it EdT, both are worth owning) at The Barber's Chair at Square One, Mississauga, and at a gift shop at the Galleria at the new casino in Niagara Falls, and perhaps at Beauty Safari in Jordan, Ontario.

Sadly, they're not mainstream in our market. If you ask at a typical perfume store, the staff wont have a clue what you're talking about.

As for samples? Buy a bottle and resell it for full price if you have to. All you'll lose here is the shipping.

If you end up with excess DR Harris product on your hands, there are others here in Ontario who wil "help you out" of it.

a small shop in Montreal, Clark Street Mercantile, will be carrying Dr Harris products... think they open soon - but they aren't yet.

If you are in Toronto, Men's Essentials on Danforth Ave. has D.R Harris.

I can't give you a link because it is blocked here at work.

Edit. Here is the link:

Wow. Old thread. Good to hear that some storefronts are picking up Dr. Harris. Otherwise I think Fendrihan is the only other place.
