D.R. Harris Arlington Cologne vs. Windsor EDT

I am fond of Arlington. Does anyone know how it compares to the newly introduced Windsor? Also, how about the shaving soap and shaving cream?

They are different. Windsor is similar to Terre d'Hermes in scent. It is grapefruit/citrus, black pepper, vetiver. Arlington is also a citrus, but more of a fougere citrus...

+1 Terre d' Hermes is exactly what came to my mind when I smelled my sample of Windsor. I don't know if you're familiar with TdH, but it's a very popular fragrance. I'm not a big fan of either one. Arlington on the other hand, I like. It reminds me just a bit of Acqua di Parma.... but maybe just a bit sweeter.... like a lemon drop. Anyway, I got my Windsor sample all excited and ended up not getting anything from that line. I could see myself getting the soap or cream someday, but I wasn't thrilled enough with the scent that I felt it was something that I had to have. I have everything from DRH Arlington and DRH Marlborough though (soap, cream, splash, cologne, AS milk).

I really love the Windsor scent. I would describe it as traditional. It reminds me of the type of scent that was popular in 70's and 80's in the U.K. Something that I would have associated with my father as a child growing up. As always however, YMMV.

Windsor is a favourite scent of mine. The soap was excellent and I had bought the matching edt. I've used up both and will definitely purchase again...as soon as I whittle down my current inventory of other products.

DR Harris Windsor edt is a good "gentleman's" scent, IMO. It is pretty clean, masculine and is unoffensive in any environment. Not a very strong projection (which is a plus, for me), but strong enough to be noticed if anyone gets close enough.

Just my opinion.

Windsor is great scent, good combo of cedar, orange, vetiver/leather/spice. always enjoy the entire range.

Windsor is a heavier, more complex, more "masculine" scent (in that it has that musky sort of thing going on). While many compare it to Arlington, I have a hard time finding them very similar. Personally, I strongly prefer Arlington.

It does get a lot of love around here, so you ought to give it a try. A cheap way is to order up a sample of soap from Garry's or cream from Maggard's.

fully agree.
Arlington is more citrusy/fruity/sweeter.
Actually seems practically a copy of 4711.
But still, I like it also...
