Custom Question...

So here's the issue. TGN sells all kinds of knots, ranging from 18-28mm (to my knowledge). But what if I want a custom closer in size to my Wee Scot?

Are there any 14mm knots being sold?

I don't know, but I think some of you might.

Worst case scenario I suppose I could always shoot Vulfix an email...

Nope, the smallest knots sold by TGN is a 16 mm Finest or a pure (not quite sure about the pure, though). Contacted Vulfix/Simpson last week and they stopped selling knots.

I believe if it's one of their brushes, vulfix will re-knot it for you...not sure if they entertain requests for loft and knot size though?? Anybody tried choosing their own loft/knot with vulfix ???

I know they mentioned a large minimum run for brushes where they would have to change the labeling (such as an Eagle in Best as it is made and stamped "Pure") but I don't see why that would be an issue for the Wee Scot as it is not stamped anywhere...

Hmmmm...Peter...now you've got me thinking about trying out a blankity-blanks premium knot on my next restore...wonder how it compares to the TGN finest or grade A knot....

Now that is tempting... I just wish there was a larger selection of small knots. I would love a TGN finest in 14mm.

would there be any problem with just grinding down the glue on the 16mm? i'm guessing you would just end up with a smaller knot, but i haven't tried it to be sure.
