Cursed Sensitive Face!!!!

Just wanted to briefly say how wonderful my first use of DRHarris Arlington shave soap. Absolutely superb slickness which make Tabac jealous. But my super sensitive face started itching and burning!

Now a question. I hope that maybe AOS Unscented SS will perform that great...tell me that its so!?

Im surprised that Arlington caused itching and burning more than tabac, which is so packed full of fragrances etc.

Arlington for me, luckily, is a fantastic soap and looks after my skin (not as well as MWF though). I love the Arlington scent big time!

With sensitive skin, it's often trial and error. There are a few products with strong fragrances that don't bother me, and others with lighter fragrances that feel like a blowtorch on my face...

Too bad. I definitely wouldn't try using that again.

Hopefully the AOS unscented will work okay but you won't know until you try, unfortunately.

If I were you, I would begin with Cella. Wonderful all around soap. Either to tired to remember or just never heard of it adversely affecting a sensitive face. Also 1/2 the price of most

AOS Sandalwood is my favorite "normal availability"
However in your case you should try the unscented to begin with. (after Cella) JMO

I don't know if fragrances are the culprits of sensitive skin. Mine loves Tabac and pretty much anything else.

But DR Harris Marlborough makes my face warm, but stops short of irritating. Also pretty average lather and the smell, well, I'm not fussed about scents, but this one is bad.

My first dud.

It sounds like I have the same curse as you. My face is SUPER sensitive. I am using AOS Unscented and it is a dream come true! you will not be dissapointed. I have tried lots of soaps with great scents put they all made my face go crazy. Even Proraso Sensitive tears me up. So, I know where you are coming from and the AOS is a godsend for me. Give it a go and you will see.

I haven't tried Cella but after what you say it will be on my next blade order. I also have Mama Bear Unscented on my list.

Yeah sounds like a lot of similarities. Mama Bear Unscented is ok but honestly I wouldnt order it. Havent tried Cella either. Have you tried Tabac? I know its heavily scented but oddly enough does not bother me. Like you even the white tub Proraso bugs me. Also MWF does not bug me but I dont have that anymore. Again T&H's shave soap does not bother me. But anything like TOBS or GFT or T&H (cream) sets me on fire. One other one is JMFraser Original, actually quite gentle.

+1. This is an area that YMMV is especially applicable. Eveyone with sensitivity issues reacts differently to different products. I'm there, too.

To your specific question, I can use Tabac with no problems, but not many other scented soaps or creams. AOS Unscented works great for me, with a very rich, slick and protective lather. But as CVAC and others have said, you won't know how it will work for you until you try it.
