Cross ballpoint refill options?

I found a cool looking pen at an antique store today and from what I can gather it takes the Cross style ballpoint refills. I picked up the pen because it was only $2.50 with the hope that I might be able to find a refill for it that I would like and if I couldn't, then I'm only out 2.50. I usually use a Pilot G-2 .38 and would like to use something similar to this style. I've yet to find a regular ballpoint pen that I like. Normally I have to push too hard and the ink is too light with ballpoints. I prefer the easy with which the Pilots write and the darkness of the ink. Is anybody aware of what I could try?

Thanks.

It sounds like you prefer a gel pen. I also don't care for most ball points for exactly the reasons you stated.
Take the pen to an office supply store, Office Depot, Office Max or the like. Go to the the pen refill section and see what they have that might fit, look for gel refills. Maybe a G-2 refill will fit.

Good luck!

Monteverde makes a "free-flowing" refill for Cross ballpoints. I don't know if there's a store near you that carries them, but you could look online. I got a few Monteverde refills from Colorado Pens a while ago. (No Cross ones though.)

Those free flowing refills are good stuff from what folks tell me.
Using a Fisher myself, I never found the need for them free flowers :w00t:
