Critique the new guys stropping technique - Video

Tribal Elders,

I throw myself at your mercy. Tell me the truth, even if it hurts my feelings. This is day 2 of stropping on my hanging strop. And while I do have a table/bench strop with bridle on it, I honestly find the hanging strop easier.

If I should go back to the table strop until technique gets better than so it shall be.

Your stroke and flip are exactly what you want to be doing. Great Job!! Keep doing it just like that, and the speed will come naturally. Don't try to push it or you will push a cut or nick into your strop.

Doing it like that, I see no need to use the bench strop unless you just want to.

I might hold the strop just a wee bit tighter if at all but your spot on otherwise. Nice work.

How are the shaves off that edge? If everything is good, than everything is good! If the shaves could be better I would see if you are applying too much pressure. I differ from Scott and like a loose strop myself. In the end all that matters is if your edges are nice after you strop

You may want to be careful in that you were getting close to the top bolster. When you flip the razor to go back down and you bump that piece of leather, your edge is toast.
