Conversion complete!

I've had a buddy that's known for quite some time that I am really into wetshaving. He's never understood it, but appreciated my enthusiasm and even bought me some gear that he ran across. Thursday, out of nowhere, he asked me to shave him. He's not put a razor to his face since 2007 - only using trimmers to control his stubble.

So, I set him up in my tufted leather chair and proceeded.

Kyle's Prep
C&E Nomad shave soap
Kent BK4
Tech + Feather (I didn't feel comfortable enough to shave him with my straights)
Witch Hazel
Nomad Aftershave Balm

Result: DFS with 3 passes plus touch up. It was very nearly BBS, but I didn't push it since he hadn't had blade to face in so long. The whole way home (lives an hour's drive away) he was rubbing his face. This morning he called me and told me to buy him a kit with everything that he needed because he was still "faceturbating" (his words :w00t:).

At his request, I got him some Proraso in a tube, Proraso Pre/Post, Proraso AS, Saint Charles Shave Oakmoss Lavendula Aftershave... I had already given him a FlareTip and several blades to sample (Israelis, Feathers, and Derbies).

One down, 5,999,986,412 to go!

Good for you. I actually found out a few days ago while at a bbq that one of my cousins is into wetshaving as well. He is a straight user and has been for about 6-7 months. It's funny because my wife thought I was the only strange person this concerned with shaving and now she sees I'm not the only one. I would love to progress to straights at some point, but right now the cost of a straight, strop and hone is prohibitive. It was fun "talking shop" with him about it. Sort of a face to face B&B.com.
