You don't wind it. You set the innards spinning with that cord. There's a flywheel up near the head. I have the dry shaver version of it, called a Ji-Ro.

Guess that would be me then.Many of the Gyro Rope razors are either missing the box or the rope,so this was a rare oppertunity to acquire a complete set.
The gyro mechanism is on the base and not in the head.
I am planning to risk having a shave with a Reel Watch soon and although not looking forward to it,its something I have just got to try-and if it cuts my throat-oh well!!!

Yes, but I thought that the toothy part that you use the rope on is under the head - at least that's where it is on the Ji-Ro.

Oh boy, I think I spotted something like this. I will check tomorrow.

When I saw the cord, I thought it was a plug in type but my wife didn't think so.
I just showed her this and she said that is what she showed me.

She was helping me look quickly, being pressed for time, after a doctor's appointment.

Maybe I need to pay better attention!
