Comparison of Trumpers Soaps vs Creams...

I ordered a sample pack from Trumpers and have really enjoyed the scents of their creams (and their colognes for that matter). I have not though had much luck getting good lather with them. It ends up on the bubbly side or airy and not nearly as cushiony, slick, or moisturizing as what I am accustomed to with TOBS soaps. Does anybody have any experience comparing Trumpers soaps and creams? Are the scents pretty similar? Do the soaps tend to provide better (i.e. slicker, more chushiony) lather than their cream? Perhaps I just haven't figured out the right water/cream ratio with their creams, but I've tried pretty hard. In case it is helpful to know how I've tried lathering with these...I let a brush (I've tried both my Simpson and Vulfix) soak in a small mug while showering. Then I let whatever water will drain out naturally by holding the brush and then give it the tinniest bit of a shake to get a little more water out. Then I put about an almond sized amount of cream in the mug and twirl away. Perhaps something is off with my technique, but I don't know.

Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

Can't make a comparison between Trumper's creams and soaps yet because I justed used (another brand) soap last weekend for the first time. However, I do use Trumper's creams and believe that you are starting out with too much water in your brush. I get a very rich, creamy lather from them. After soaking the brush and bowl, I empty the bowl and shake the water from the brush about three or four times. I put cream on the brush, start the lather in my bowl, then face-lather it onto my face. Hope this helps, John

Agree with this. You are putting too much water into the cream.

I have no experience with the soaps, but some people say they are even better than the creams.

I agree that you are using too much water with the creams. I do however prefer the Trumper soaps to just about anything else on the market. The scents are a little lighter and vary somewhat from the creams but they are all high quality.

I decided I should post an update on the followup. Yesterday I tried using less water with the rose scented cream and that seemed to make things a little better, but still left much to be desired. Today I used even less water with the sandalwood and it was excellent. The lather was thick, cushiony, moisturizing, and slick. I don't know that I could ask for much more. Thanks for the advice of using less water with the creams. I might have given up on them prematurely.
