A lot depends on who the maker is I find. For instance Alpa Windsor Cologne is just that, a fine European cologne. However their fougere is good enough to use as an AS.

I use it every day I go to work. A gentleman should always look good and smell good, but not overpowering. I generally prefer scents by Calvin Kline, but I recently found a Perry Ellis I like called Night. I have 3 different types on my dresser, and usually keep at least 2 at all times, so I can rotate.

I'm an absolute cologne addict. I have at least 10 bottles on the go at any particular time, and that allows me a lot of flexibility depending on my mood and whether I'm dressing up or down.

My wife has instructed me that I am "cut off" from buying any more.

You think 10 bottles is being an addict? You should check out some of the guys and gals over on the BaseNotes forum. You will find some REAL addicts there, people who have hundreds of colognes, rare fragrances and middle eastern scents and the like. The cologne hole can be a very deep hole to get yourself stuck in. I guess some people really enjoy it though. Personally, I haven't had the time to have more than 4 or 5 on hand and appreciate, but then again, I'm still young and exploring.

Interesting location choice for a poll on who wears cologne. Seems to me that most who frequent a Fragrance forum would wear a cologne of some sort.

I used to wear cologne but up until a year or two ago I switched exclusively to aftershaves. I like the feel of an aftershave on my face better, and most aftershaves tend to not be as overbearing as cologne. Not that all cologne is overbearing, but you get the general idea here. I've also become a big fan of the barbershop scent, which tends to be more prevalent in aftershaves. Not to mention the fact that most of the aftershaves I buy are considerably less money than cologne, and I am a frugal gentleman!

I've gone through most of the addictions discussed on this forum, but the fragrance addiction is far and away the most consuming. For many reasons it can easily be the most expensive and the hardest to control. There is always just one more fragrance to obtain, and there really is tremendous variety.

Every day and some day's multiple times thought the day. I'm on my second application of T&H 1805.

Aftershave is good enough for everyday, but to make Mrs. Shaving CHENG feel special I'll put on some cologne when we go out on the town.

Totally agree. Halleluiah!

Still, it's interesting that in a forum devoted to aftershave, more than 40% of respondents either never or rarely use cologne...

Well, to clarify, I have 11 right now that I'm actually rotating through... I have a pretty good amount of ones that I either no longer wear (intended to pass along and never did), aren't interested in wearing right now (but might eventually get back to), or just got lost at the back of the drawer LOL.

As a person that suffers from chronic migraine syndrome, I find that cologne causes me more grief than pleasure. I wear any scent extremely sparingly if I wear it at all.
